Founded in 1950 as a unique community of broadcasters dedicated to exploring and developing their synergies, the EBU employs 320 professionals in Geneva and 68 in its various offices around the world, representing about 50 different nationalities.
It represents its Members and promotes the values and distinctiveness of public service media in Europe and around the world. The Eurovision and Euroradio networks deliver news, sports, events and music to EBU Members and other media organizations. Services to Members range from legal advice, technical standardization and development to coproductions and the exchange of quality European content.
Jean-Pierre Evain is in charge of coordinating all EBU metadata activities for production and distribution. He is a member of the W3C Media Annotation Working Group and represents the EBU in key European projects.
